Dividend Reinvestment Plan

If you participate in a dividend reinvestment scheme then you will need to allocate the number of units to the DRP.  If you never make any changes to the allocation then this can be as simple as entering in the allocation quantity into the DRP field.

If however you change the allocation number some time after owning the stock you can then click the '..' button to edit multiple DRP allocations.  The first entry should always be the date that you purchased the stock.  In this case I initially didn't have any allocated units until November 2008, at which point I changed my allocation to 150.  This changes the number of units held for dividend calculations from 350 to 200 from November onwards.

Note that the DRP can also be used with company mergers to stop a transaction from including dividends before the merge date.
